Darkness and nature are always present in my graphic works. Sleeping subjects and mysterious creatures emerge from the paper creating oneiric, nocturnal worlds, where space plays with the impossible.
In the field of photography I like technical mistakes, accidental or intentional: a tilted horizon, a blur in the main subject, light leaks, noise.
I have always found it easier to relate and been drawn to the imperfect or unconventional.
I think there’s a lot of beauty in the things that are not considered beautiful, but that turn fascinating once they’ve been contemplated long enough to be understood.
Pictures can hold a ton of questions:
Can the sea be wither than the snow, and the snow bluer than the sea?
Does the sunset come from the reflection on a high window?
Can the scent of saltpetre hang from a picture, could that same picture be the sea itself?
Could the wingbeat of a seagull cover the sun for an instant ... for an eternity?
